Clare have suffered defeat in their opening game in this year’s Munster intermediate ladies football championship.
The Banner closed the gap during the second half thanks to goals from Grainne Nolan and Aisling Morrissey but Tipperary emerged 2-15 to 2-11 victors in Sean Treacy Park.
Caitlin Kennedy got the two Premier County goals but Clare’s provincial ambitions are still intact.
They meet Limerick in Cusack Park next Saturday where a win or draw will guarantee a rematch with Tipperary in the Munster Final.
