Games Are For Winning And We Lost – Lohan

Clare’s hopes of silverware in this year’s National Hurling league are now over following a second successive loss in Division 1B.

A late Wexford rally in the final quarter of their Cusack Park contest swung the game in favour of Davy Fitzgerald’s side, who reeled in an eight point deficit to run out 2-19 to 1-21 winners.

Clare finished the game with 14 men after the dismissal of Liam Corry with Wexford taking full advantage to raid for those late goals.

Clare boss Brian Lohan felt there was little comfort to take from the game for his side

Meanwhile Wexford boss Davy Fitzgerald praised the spirit his side showed to earn the win.

The Sixmilebridge man felt his side left scoring chances behind them but showed great composure to pick up the points.
