Healy cited for stamping during England game

Ireland head coach Declan Kidney could be forced to make plenty of changes for their Six Nations clash with Scotland on Sunday week.

Cian Healy has been cited for stamping on Dan Cole during Ireland’s 12-6 defeat to England at the Aviva yesterday.

The Leinster prop will appear before an independent Six Nations Disciplinary Committee in London on Wednesday.

If found guilty of the charge, Healy can expect a minimum ban of two weeks but the maximum punishment is nine weeks or more.

Kidney’s already without Simon Zebo for remainder of the championship due to a broken foot while Jonathan Sexton is a major doubt for the trip to Murrayfield after scans confirmed he suffered a hamstring injury yesterday.

Brian O’Driscoll, Donnacha Ryan and Mike McCarthy will all see specialists this week – McCarthy is the biggest concern of the three after he picked up a strain to the medial ligament in his right knee.

Rob Kearney is recovering well from a dead leg, while Sean O’Brien came off with a tight hamstring and will be monitored throughout the week.
