Ireland International Cian Healy has been handed a three week ban for stamping on England’s Dan Cole during Sundays game at the Aviva.

Healy’s suspension starts this weekend which means he’ll miss the Six Nations games away to Scotland and home to France.

The Committee found that the stamp should be categorised as a mid range offence which carries a sanction of five weeks.

They allowed the maximum two weeks of mitigation, but, in imposing a suspension of three weeks, recognised that Healy would not have played for Leinster this weekend which means the suspension will end at midnight on Sunday March the 10th.

The French come to the Aviva on the 9th of March but he’ll be available for Ireland’s last game of the Championship which is away to Italy on the 16th of March.
