The sides were level entering the last minute of additional time before Johnny Keane scored the game’s only goal to seal their place in the Munster final in a fortnight’s time.

The Blues manager Bob Enright was devastated at the loss:

Thurles Sarsfields won the other Munster club semi final by 2-20 to 2-15 against Sarsfields of Cork.

Elsewhere Clare intermediate football champions O Curry’s lost their Munster semi final to St Vincent’s by 0-07 to 0-06 while Truagh Clonlara’s season ended with a 3-10 to 0-11 loss to Myshall in the All Ireland  junior camogie club semi final in Dr Cullen park.
