Clonlara’s Darach Honan has claimed the title of Breakthrough Player of the Year for 2009.
The Clare Under 21 star forwards was picked from a shortlist that included heavy hitters Joe Canning and Richie Hogan to claim the 1,000 euro prize

Honan put in two Man of the Match performances during the journey to Clare’s first ever All Ireland Under 21 title, against Waterford in the Munster Final and in the thrilling semi final encounter with Galway.
John Conlon and Colin Ryan were also in the shortlist for the award.
Honan says that he’s honoured by the award.
