Over 82,000 hurling fans, many in the saffron and blue, are returning to HQ today in the hopes of seeing Patrick Donnellan lift the Liam Mcarthy Cup at around 6:30 this evening.

The last Clareman who did that, Anthony Daly, is optimistic, provided the balance of goals tips more in Clare’s favour.

Also optimistic is another Clarecastle man, who like Dalo won All Ireland medals in the Saffron and Blue and went onto manage the county. Ger ‘Sparrow’ O’Loughlin is hopeful Clare’s young stars will hurl with freedom and give the county a major boost.

Another two-time All-Ireland winner with Clare, Jamesie O’Connor, told Clare FM’s Sideline View that he thinks aggression and focus will be key this evening
