Huge success for Clare at All Ireland Handball Championships

It was a great weekend for Clare's handballers as no fewer than 7 players were crowned All-Ireland champions. 

For the first time all juvenile finals and all adult singles final were played over a finals festival weekend and the Banner County was particularly successful.

U21 Singles, Colin Crehan (Kilkishen) dft Gabhainn McCrystal (Tyrone) 21-17, 21-11.

Boys U16 Singles, Tiernan Agnew dft Antoin Fox (Tyrone) 21-20, 21-13.

Boys U15 Singles, Mark Rodgers (Tuamgraney) dft Jason O'Tuathaill (Galway) 8-15, 15-4, 15-8.

Girls U16 Doubles, Aoife Floyd & Niamh O'Brien (Tulla) dft Tyrone 21-17, 21-17.

Girls U14 Doubles, Shauna Doyle & Orla O'Brien (Tuamgraney & Tulla) dft Tyrone 15-4, 15-8.

Girls U14 Singles, Amber Nolan (Tuamgraney) lost to Mairead Fox (Tyrone) 4-15, 8-15.

Meanwhile Westmeath man Robbie McCarthy secured a 3-in-a-row of Mens Senior Singles titles when he defeated Armagh's Charly Shanks in Saturday's final. 

Catriona Casey brought the Ladies senior title back to Cork again when she defeated Aisling Reilly of Antrim.
