Ireland Look To Make History In Lyon

The Republic of Ireland are looking to make the quarter-finals of the European Championship for the first time in their history this afternoon.

They face hosts France in the last-16 in Paris at 2pm.

Jonathan Walters and Stephen Ward could be available to start after they both trained with the squad in Lyon yesterday.

Walters missed Ireland's final two group game with an Acilles problem.

Ward was a doubt after he injured his ankle during the 1-0 win over Italy.

Defender Richard Keogh says they're feeling good.

Wales will find out later who they'll play in the quarter-finals.

After their 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland in Paris, they'll keep an eye on the last-16 clash between Hungary and Belgium in Toulouse.

We already know the line-up for another last-eight game.

Portugal beat Croatia 1-0 after extra-time last night, and they'll play Poland, who got past Switzerland via penalties.

Elsewhere, 2014 World Cup winners Germany face Slovakia who shocked them 3-1 in a pre-tournament warm-up game.

That kicks off in Lille at 5pm.
