Ireland lose 2-0 to Italy

Ireland captain Robbie Keane says they were outclassed in all three games and could not have prepared any better.

The tournament ended with a 2-0 defeat of Italy last night which came off the back of losses to Spain and Croatia.

Keane says they could not have done any more in the build up and throughout the tournament.

It’s expected that some senior players will now retire ahead of the World cup qualifiers which start in September.

In the nights other action Spain beat Croatia 1-0 thanks to a Navas goal, they top the group with Italy in second.

Tonight England face co-host Ukraine in Donetsk while Sweden meet France in Kiev.

Both games kick off at 7.45.

A draw will put England into the quarter finals where they could face Spain if they finish second in the group.
