Irish Olympics Update

There’s been mixed fortunes for the Irish Murphy’s at the London Olympics so far today.

In sailing, Annalise Murphy has won her 3rd race in the women’s laser radial class.

The Dublinner won the first two races yesterday and rewmaisn in the overall lead.

Peter O’Leary & David Burrows ended 11th in their latest race of the Men’s star class which meansd they nare sith overall  while Seaton and McGovern are 6th overall in the 49er class after todays two races.

In the men’s Laser James Espey lies in 42nd place overall and his race is underway latter.

In Swimming

Grainne Murphy has pulled out of 800 metres free style event.

The Wexford athlete has suffered glandular fever in recent months causing disruption to her preparation.

Day 3 of the team eventing is over.

Ireland finished  5th but Mark Kyle, Joseph Murphys and Aoife Clarks have all qualified for the individual final which starts shortly.

In Rowing sculler Sanita Puspure has finished 4th  in  her quarter final and does not progress to the main semi final.

In Badminton Chloe Magee continues her group campaign with a match against a French opponent
