Jamesie Confident Early Start Won’t Deter Banner’s Hurlers

Former Clare All Ireland winner Jamesie O'Connor says he doesn't believe Clare's approach to the National Hurling League will be impacted by their early championship opener.

The Banner get their Allianz League campaign underway on Sunday when they travel to Salthill to face Galway, who will be without their talisman Joe Canning through injury.

Davy Fitzgerald's side also face an early Munster championship opener in 2015 when they take on Limerick on May 24th, but Jamesie doesn't feel this will affect how his former team mate will approach the league.

It's underway at Pearse Stadium on Sunday at 2pm, full live commentary here on Clare FM

Meanwhile, there's quarter-final action in the Sigerson Cup this afternoon.

The meeting of St Mary's and DCU will take place in Belfast from 2pm.

Meanwhile IT Sligo have been reinstated into the competition after being successful in their appeal.

The College had been removed after fielding an ineligible player in their win over Queens Belfast but the decision has been overturned.
