Keane To Face The Press As Friendlies Preparations Continue

The Ireland squad are back in training later this morning, ahead of the upcoming international friendlies against Latvia and Poland.

Robbie Brady and Anthony Pilkington are missing from the camp due to injury, however they will come over to meet the new management team in the training camp this week.

Manager Martin O’Neill confirmed yesterday that Robbie Keane will continue as team captain, while also admitting that he’s open to the possibility of Stephen Ireland returning to the international fold.

Roy Keane will face the media for the first time as assistant manager this afternoon.

Meanwhile, problems are continuing to mount for World Cup organisers in Brazil.

The laboratory, which was meant to analyse players’ drug tests, will now not be ready in time.

It means that the hundreds of blood and urine samples taken from players during the World Cup finals will need to be flown to Switzerland for testing.
