Laois beat Carlow in Leinster as Down beat Derry in Ulster

At O’ Moore Park, Laois beat Carlow 2-18 to 13 points in the Leinster quarter-finals.

Willie Hyland and Zane Keenan got the Laois goals as they continued their impressive championship form.

Carlow finished with 12 men after they received three red cards in the final stages.

The O’ Moore county go on to face Galway in the semi-finals.

In the under-21 championship Wexford defeated Westmeath by 1-15 to 1-10.

Down defeated Derry 2-17 to 1-15 in their Ulster football championship quarter final at Celtic Park.

They were neck-and-neck until a Mark Lynch goal before the break gave Derry the lead at half time.

Down turned the tables in the second half with goals coming from Donal O’Hare and captain Mark Poland.

They now have an Ulster semi-final against Donegal to look forward to.
