The Magpies led by 1-7 to 0-6 at the break, thanks to Adam Cassidy's goal just before the half time whistle.

Both sides were reduced to 14 players before the resumption of the game, following an incident as they headed to the tunnel at the break.

Kilmaley brought it back to a single point game as the game edged toward the closing stages, with Conor Cahill's goal ensuring a nervy finish.

Clarecastle responded with points from the impressive Lee Brack and Ronan Donnelly to ensure they would hold on for the victory.
