Manchester City back on top of BPL table

Manchester City have returned to the top of the Premier League table.

An incredible five-goal haul for Sergio Aguero helped City come from behind to beat Newcastle 6-1 at the Etihad.

Crystal Palace are third following their 2-0 lunchtime win over West Brom.

A second half Jeffrey Schlupp goal added to Jamie Vardy's penalty for Leicester in their 2-1 win at Norwich.

Sunderland threw away a two-goal lead, and had one of their goalscorers – Jeremain Lens – sent off in a 2-2 draw with West Ham – it's expected that Black Cats boss Dick Advocaat will announce he is resigning this evening.

There was nothing to separate last season's top two in the Championship, with Bournemouth and Watford drawing one apiece.

While Marko Arnautovic's second half strike saw Stoke beat Aston Villa by a goal to nil at Villa Park.
