McClean has also been linked with Blackburn and Celtic in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, PFA Chief Gordon Taylor says he fears Luis Suarez attempted escape from Liverpool could drag on.

The 26 year old says he was told he could leave if they did not reach the Champions league and Suarez admits he wants to go adding the club need to keep their promise.

Arsenal are the only club to have made an offer so far, worth around 45 million euro.

West Ham goalkeeper Stephen Henderson has been called up as a replacement for Millwall’s David Forde ahead of Irelands friendly with Wales.

The Galway man misses out with a knee injury.

Anthony Pilkington has also withdrawn after picking up knee injury in training with Norwich.
