American Webb Simpson pipped Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell to the US Open title by a shot over night.
He hit a final round 68 to finish 1-over at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.

McDowell failed to putt a 25-foot effort at the 18th to force a play-off.
Padraig Harrington finished tied for fourth on 3 over after a final round 68.
