New Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley says he can’t explain why he loves the event so much.
The 46 year old Dubliner made three consecutive, victorious Ryder Cup appearances as a player holing the winning putt at The Belfry in his first appearance.

He has been a vice-captain for both Colin Montgomerie and Jose Maria Olazabal, winning on both occasions, and has captained two successful Great Britain & Ireland teams in the Vivendi Seve Trophy.
McGinley says the event gives him a lift.
