Rory Mc Ilroy is the only non Olympic or paralympic nominee on the shortlist for the BBC Sports personality of the year award.
Some of the others on the list include Olympic gold-medallists Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis, along with Paralympic stars such as David Weir and Ellie Simmonds.

23 year old Mc Ilroy ended the season World number 1 having topped the money list in both Europe and America.
Meanwhile
The Irish Independent are reporting that Mc Ilroy will play in next years Irish Open in Carton house at the end of June.
