McInerney Return Will Give Huge Boost To Clare – Moran

A member of Clare’s senior hurling management team says the side will be significantly boosted by the return of captain David McInerney for Saturday’s All Ireland Quarter Final.

The Tulla man was sent off in the first round qualifier victory over Laois and subsequently missed last weekend’s victory over Wexford.

The midfielder is now available for selection again for this Saturday’s quarter final with Waterford at Pairc Ui Chaoimh and seems certain to return to the starting 15.

Clare selector James Moran says the Banner can only benefit from McInerney’s leadership qualities at the weekend.

Meanwhile, a former Waterford All Star believes Clare’s panel has stepped up to the plate in the last number of weeks.

Brian Lohan’s been forced to shuffle his pack this campaign after long term injuries to John Conlon and Colm Galvin as well as Peter Duggan’s absence.

Eoin Murphy, who gave 10 years service to the Deise, says the Banner are showing signs of becoming more settled as they progress through the championship.

Throw-in for that one in Páirc Uí Chaoimh is on Saturday at 3:45 and we’ll have live coverage here on Clare FM with Matt Waters Clare Fruit & Veg Market, Turnpike Road, and Geraghty’s Spar & Off-License, Turnpike, Ennis.
