McMahon Backs The Banner To Do Well In 2013

A former Clare hurler has backed the county to make a big impression in the National League and Championship this year.

Clare make their seasonal debut this coming Sunday against UL in the Waterford Crystal Cup, as part of their preparations for the National League which begins with a clash at home to Waterford on February 27th.

Former Clare centre-back Seanie Mc Mahon feels playing Divison One hurling will benefit the county.

Meanwhile, Tipperary maybe without Seamus Callinan for the early part of their league campaign.

The 24 year old attacker picked up a hamstring injury in their challenge with Dublin last weekend and it’s suspected that he may have sustained a muscle tear.

Callinan has missed the last two league campaigns through injury.
