McNamara Not Fearful Of Croke Park Factor

Former Clare Manager Mike McNamara is hoping the county’s tradition of playing well at Croke Park will stand to our senior hurlers in this weekend’s All Ireland Final replay with Cork.

It’s back to GAA headquarters this Saturday for Davy Fitzgerald’s side, after their thrilling 0-25 to 3-16 draw earlier this month.

McNamara, who managed the banner county from 2007 to 2009, has paid tribute to the current backroom team for their efforts in preparing this young Clare side.

Meanwhile, Seamus Harnedy remains Cork’s only injury doubt ahead of the game.

The Irish Examiner reports that the Saint Ita’s forward has struggled to recover from a knock picked up first time out.

His team-mate, defender Conor O’Sullivan admits they will have to stop conceding frees if they are to take victory on Saturday.

Clare’s Colin Ryan is the Championship top scorer with 63 points, with many of those coming from the placed ball. O’Sullivan knows it’s an area they must curtail.
