Clare joint hurling boss Donal Moloney feels his side showed huge composure to close out the game during their National Hurling League win over Tipperary.
David Reidy blasted home a goal with the final strike of the game to seal a 1-21 to 0-19 win for the Banner in Cusack Park.
The home side had led by three at the break and stretched that to five midway through the second half.
Tipp fought back to level but a late burst from the Banner saw them take the points.
Moloney says it was a game they had to fight to win
Elsewhere in Division 1A, Cork beat Kilkenny while Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford got the better of Waterford.
Clare make the trip to Nowlan Park to face the Cats next Sunday afternoon.
