O’Connell to lead Ireland in Six Nations

Paul O’Connell has been confirmed as Ireland’s captain for the upcoming Six Nations campaign.

The Munster second row has won 82 caps for his country and captained the Lions tour to South Africa in 2009.

O’Connell is deputising in the absence of Brian O’Driscoll as he continues his rehabilitation from surgery on a trapped nerve in his shoulder.
