Clare are up to second place in the Division two of the Allianz hurling league table after their 5-22 to 0-06 win over Down in Cusack Park.
Clare eased to their biggest win of the season so far thanks to two goals each from Colin Ryan and Diarmuid Mc Mahon.
Down ended the game with 13 men, having Kevin McGarry and Aidan Clarke red carded.

Clare have now massively improved their points difference but manager Ger O’Loughlin feels his side can’t take much more from the win.
