Positive news for Clonlara’s Marcus Horan

 

 Clonlara’s Marcus Horan could be back in action in time for the remaining rounds of the Heineken Cup.

Horan might get game time this weekend for Shannon and could be involved in Munster’s Magner’s League clash with Llanelli Scarlets in Musgrave Park on Sunday week, in time to prove his fitness for the Heineken cup fifth round clash with Treviso.

Team manager Shaun Payne has described Marcus Horan’s progress since the diagnosis of a career threatening illness three months ago as remarkable, and said he hoped to get some game time in with Shannon later this week depending on how things go.

Horan has reportedly got positive test results back recently and is said to be feeling much better.

Meanwhile fellow prop Darragh Hurley could be out for the rest of the season with an eye infection.

And ahead of this weekend’s action Munster boss Tony McGahan has Doug Howlett, Lifeimi Mafi and Alan Quinlan back in his squad For Saturdays Magners League clash with Ulster at Ravenhill, , while Paul O’Connell, Ronan O’Gara and David Wallace are among the players being rested.
