Quinn backs young guns to shine

One of the veterans of the Clare senior hurling panel has paid tribute to the county’s younger stars ahead of this Sunday’s National Hurling Leage Divisoin 2 final against Wexford.

Gerry Quinn believes that many of the players involved in last year’s All Ireland winning under-21 side have made a real difference to this year’s senior setup.

Clare topped Division 2 this year, and can bounce back to the top tier of League hurling with a win on Sunday.

Elsewhere and The Clare minor hurlers must face Kerry on Saturday evening in the Munster semi final play off after a 1-21 to 16 point defeat to Waterford last  evening.

Clare now must face a Kingdom side who narrowly lost to Limerick last evening.

Tipperray lost to Cork after extra time and they will face the winners of the this  Saturday’s Cusack park clash in the next qualifer with waterford waitng in the last 4.

In camogie news and Clare will be hoping to reach their third successive minor final this weeend when they face Waterford in Cusack Park on Sunday at 2pm.

A number of Clare palyers will also be in action for the ladies minor football  team on Saturday when they face Cork in amunsetr final.

But camogie selector John Carmody doesn’t think the focus is gong to be a problem come Sunday:
