Race For Jack Daly Down To Four

The last three champions are all still standing in the race for the 2018 Clare Senior Football title.

The semi final draw tonight will see the holders Kilmurry Ibrickane joined by Cratloe, Miltown and an Ennistymon side who are featuring at this stage for the first time in their history.

The champions withstood a tough test from Corofin before running out comfortable winners on a 3-12 to 0-10 scoreline.

Selector Kieran Madigan say they knew they’d have to battle for the result.

Meanwhile Cratloe kicked a second half tally of 3-9 as they beat Cooraclare by 4-16 to 0-9 in their quarter final tie.

Riain Considine, Cathal McInerney, Billy Connors and Conal O’Hanlon all found the net for the 2014 champions.

Manager Colm Collins felt Considine’s goal just before the break gave them a great platform to build on.

Elsewhere 2015 winners Miltown atoned for defeat to Clondegad 12 months ago as they overcame last years beaten finalists by 2-14 to 1-7.

Ennistymon reached a first ever senior semi final after beating Eire Óg by 2-12 to 2-10.

The draw for the last four gets underway this evening from 6.30pm.

It was a busy weekend of club GAA across Clare this weekend.

The line up for the intermediate football final and hurling semi finals were also competed while the battle to survive in the top tier of the football championship is down to two.

Lissycasey and St Breckan’s have one more chance to save their status in the Clare Senior Football Championship.

The North Clare men lost out to Kilmihil while Doonbeg were 7 point winners in their clash with Lissycasey in the relegation playoffs.

Meanwhile Kildysart and Kilrush will contest the intermediate final and the chance to become the 12th team in the top tier next year.

The Shams edged their derby with Kilkee while Kildsyart overcame neighbours Shannon Gaels.

Elsewhere Eire Óg clinched the Junior A title with victory over Michael Cusacks.

In the intermediate hurling championship, Feakle and Scariff came through their replayed quarter final ties to set up a last four showdown next weekend.

The Clare Senior Camogie Final for 2018 will be Inagh/Kilnamona v Newmarket after they both won their semi final ties.
