A former Waterford hurling manager believes that the McCarthy Cup could easily have ended up in Clare last year.
The Deise’s victory over Galway last weekend allowed them finish second in the National Hurling League Division 1B setting up a meeting with the Banner on Saturday.
2018 was a right-off for Waterford while Clare were denied by the Tribesmen by just one point in last year’s semi-final replay.
But Michael Ryan thinks their Munster Rivals is a step up from their round-robin games.
