Ennis Boxer Lee Sherlock made it through to the Final of the Championships this afternoon with a good victory over Patrick Bradley from the Errigal Club in Derry.
In this clash of Southpaws Sherlock’s superb ringcraft prevailed in three absorbing rounds of action with first the Ulster boxer and then Sherlock dictating the action with sharp left and right jabs .
At the final bell both boxers were tied on 4-4 with the scores remaining tied on the first countback and the Ennis fighter gaining the nod 4-1 on the final countback.
Sherlock now meets Dubliner Jamie Stokes (Mulhuddart) in next Saturdays final and he is confident of victory having lost out in last years final .
Clare boxers Sally Carrig and Caoilinn McCormack will both join Lee in the finals , while Antoinette Keane and Kayleigh McCormack both box in Friday’s semi-finals in what might be a good weekend for Clare Boxing.
