Sixmilebridge have taken their 13th Clare Senior Hurling Championship title at the second time of asking, after victory over Clooney/Quin this evening.
The Bridge opened their account with the first three points of the game, although Clooney/Quin turned around the deficit to leave the sides tied on the thirteen minute mark.
Things remained relatively even for the rest of the first half, as Clooney/Quin, then the Bridge edged ahead – the latter taking a two point lead into half time.
The second half was a different affair following Brian Corry’s goal in the thirty third minute. With a five point lead, it was up to John O’Meara’s men to simply maintain their lead.
Michael Corry’s 61st minute consolation goal could do nothing to bring Clooney/Quin back into play, and the game finished up Sixmilebridge 1-20, Clooney/Quin 1-14.
