Sixmilebridge Captain Aidan Quilligan has praised his side’s battling qualities, after they overcame Newmarket-on-Fergus to become Clare Hurling Champions of 2013.
The Bridge were two points behind at the break, 0-09 to 1-04, but outscored Newmarket 6 points to 2 in the second half. Niall Gilligan chipped in with 1-06 as they won 1-10 to 0-11.

The Bridge now go onto face Cork’s Midleton in the Munster semi-final next weekend, and if they win that game then will go up against Limerick’s Na Piarsaigh who beat Passage of Waterford in yesterday’s provincial semi-final.
Na Piarsaigh are trained by Sixmilebridge man Sean Stack.
