The victory lifts Liverpool to sixth, and just two points of the Champions League places.

Romelu Lukaku's diving header 2 minutes from time saw Everton draw 2-2 with the Premier League's bottom side Leicester at Goodison Park.

Leicester had led, after goals from David Nugent and Esteban Cambiasso cancelled out Steven Naismith's Toffees opener.

Tottenham came from 2-0 down to rescue a 2-2 draw from their London derby with West Ham at White Hart Lane.

Harry Kane won a penalty five minutes into stoppage time – he saw it saved by Adrian, but converted the rebound to salvage a point.
