Support in Clare for motion to bring All Ireland Finals forward

One of the men who drew up the Master Fixtures Plan for Clare GAA has welcomed a proposal to move the All Ireland Finals forward by one week.

The move, which was proposed by a committee involving GAA President Liam O'Neill, would see hurlings showpiece move from its traditional September date to the last weekend in August, with the football decider moving to the second Sunday in September.

Kilrush clubman Colm Browne believes this would alleviate pressure on club fixtures, but says more debate is needed.
