The County’s GAA Master Fixtures Plan’s unveiled

 

 

The county senior hurling championship is set to begin in early May and  the second round also set to be completed by the end of that month  following last night’s county board  meeting in Ennis.

The Master Fixtures plan for 2011 was revealed to delegates which also proposes to begin the county senior football championship on either  the 4th or 25th  of June or the 9th of July.

The 4 man committee tasked with bringing forward a fixtures plan for 2011  have proposed that the county senior hurling championship begin on the 8th and 15th of may with the weekend of the 29th set to see round two completed.

The football championship is set to begin on the 4th or  25th of June or another possible date the 9th of July   with  round two not down for decision until the 14th of August,.   

Elsewhere the Clare Cup won’t begin until the 27th of March with the competition set to see games held midweek for rounds 7 and 9 to facilitate county players participation while the Cusack Cup and Garry Cup campaigns will begin for clubs on the weekend of the 18th to the 20th of February.

The next meeting of the board will decide on the fixtures plan as well as ruling on the the transfers of players to other clubs and its set to take place on Tuesday the 1st of February.
