Three teams advance to Clare SHC semi finals

Three teams have qualified for this years Clare Senior Hurling Championship semi finals after todays action.

Cratloe were first into the pot after they beat Eire Óg by 2-20 to 2-13.

Cratloe led by 2-10 to 2-8 at half time after a pulsating opening half.

The Eire Óg goals came from the stick of David Reidy, while Cathal McInerney and the excellent Conor McGrath goaled for Cratloe.

Eire Óg were reduced to 14 men in the second half with the dismissal of Barry Nugent for a late challenge.

Cratloe pulled away from their opponents in the closing stages, and were comfortable 7 point winners

Clonlara easily advanced to the semi finals, beating O'Callaghans Mills by 3-20 to 2-11.

A John Conlon goal had Clonlara leading by 1-9 to 1-7 at the break, but a storming second half that saw Conlon take his personal tally to 3-11 saw Kevin Galvins side through.

There was high drama in the days closing game as Crusheen swooped late to knock out last years beaten finalists Newmarket.

It was the Blues who led at half time by 1-7 to 0-7, Shane O'Briens goal the difference between the sides.

Newmarket had chances to put the game beyond Crusheens reach, but a dogged performance from the 2011 champions kept them in touch.

A late goal and point from Conor O'Donnell swung the game in their favour, and they sealed a 3 point win, 1-16 to 1-13.

Elsewhere Kilmaley consolidated their senior status with a 0-15 to 0-14 win over St Josephs Doora Barefield.

Tulla did likewise after seeing off the challenge of Whitegate by 1-22 to 0-21.

Feakle booked their spot in the Clare Intermediate Hurling Championship Final with a 2-16 to 2-15 win over Sixmilebridge.

Finally for now,

Corofin progressed to the semi finals of the Clare Intermediate Football Championship with a 2-12 to 1-14 win over Kildysart, after extra time.

Kildysart now take on Kilmihil to see who takes the last semi final spot.
