Today’s Olympic Action

Sanita Puspure is first of the Irish out today in the women’s C semi finals in the sculls.

In Swimming Barry Murphy takes part in the 50 metre freestyle heats just after 10 while Melanie Nocher is in the Women’s 200 metres backstroke at around twenty five to twelve.

Hannah Craig goes in the women’s Kayak slalom semi final after 2 while Darren O’Neill fights Germanys Stefan Hartel in their  round of 16 middleweight bout at around quarter to three.

The  Mullingar boxer is now just one win away from a medal after a comfortable victory in the last-16 of the men’s Bantam weight division.

In Sailing

Annalise Murphy continues to lead the standings in the Women’s Laser Radial class.

But the 22-year-old has seen her lead cut to just two points after she had to settle for eighth and 19th place finishes in yesterday’s two races.

Murphy has a rest day today before the action resumes on Friday.

David O’Leary and David Burrows are back on the water with two races in the Mens star class today, the first is off just after noon and the two lie ninth overall.

Ger Owens and Scott Flanagan are out in the Mens 4-70 race one from 12.

In Equestrian action

Canadian born Kildare rider Anna Merveldt goes in the individual dressage from 11 o’clock.
