Utd edge thriller at Stamford Bridge

Manchester United have become the first team to beat Chelsea in the Premier League this season.

United won 3-2 at Stamford Bridge.

United went 2-0 up through a David Luiz  own goal and Robin Van Persie strike.

Juan Mata pulled one back for the league leaders with a free kick before half time.

Ramires equalised for Chelsea 7 minutes into the second half.

Chelsea were then reduced to nine men – Branislav Ivanovic was shown a straight red while Fernando Torres picked up a second yellow for simulation.

Javier Hernandez scored the winner 15 minutes from time to move United up to second place and within a point of Chelsea.

Elsewhere today Everton and Liverpool drew 2-2 in the Merseyside at Goodison Park.

Liverpool went 2-0 up thanks to an own goal from Leighton Baines and a Luis Suarez header.

Everton went in level at half time with goals from Leon Osman and Steven Naismith.

Suarez should have won it for Liverpool in injury time but his effort was ruled out for offside.

Spurs are up to fourth place after a 2-1 win away to Southampton.

Gareth Bale and Clint Dempsey scored the goals..

Newcastle beat West Brom 2-1 at St. James’ Park thanks to a late winner from Papiss Cisse.
