Chelsea suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat at Southampton.

That result helped Tottenham, who moved third with a 2-1 victory at Swansea.

Arsenal also remain in with a great shout of claiming a Champions League spot.

Their 4-1 win over Reading means the visitors to the Emirates Stadium fall to the bottom of the table, in what was Nigel Adkins’ first game in charge.

Wigan are out of the relegation places after a 1-0 victory over Norwich, while West Ham eased their fears of going down in beating West Brom 3-1.
